三重県生まれ、日本を拠点に制作しています。

海と山に囲まれた熊野古道伊勢路の

自然豊かな環境で生まれ育ち、

世界のみえ方に不思議を抱いてきました。

沖縄とフランスで絵画を学び、
現在は光と絵具の相互作用を起点に、
“みる”という行為の構造を

可視化する作品を制作しています。

平面作品を中心にインスタレーションへも展開し
世界と知覚の関係性を探求しています。

Sana Onishi was born in Mie, Japan, and lives and works in Japan.
She was raised in the rich natural environment of the Kumano Kodo Iseji (Ise Route), surrounded by both the sea and the mountains,
where she developed an early curiosity about how the world appears to us.

After studying painting in Okinawa and France,
Onishi now creates works that visualize the structure of the act of “seeing,”
beginning with the interaction between light and paint.
While focusing on two-dimensional works, she also expands her practice into installation, exploring the relationship between the world and perception.
